Glossary

Conical drum

A tapered steel drum shaped so empty units nest inside each other.

The body narrows toward the base, so an empty conical drum drops into the one below it. Full drums stack and ship as normal; empty ones take a fraction of the space on the return leg or in storage. That single geometry change is what makes reuse and empty return practical for a format that is otherwise mostly air when empty.
