How can packaging reduce warehouse space?
Most warehouses lose space in the same four places, and packaging touches all of them.
Space is usually lost to unused stack height, wasted pallet footprint, empty containers, and packaging that cannot be stacked safely. Each is a packaging decision as much as a warehouse one.
Height
Racking and trailers have usable height that many loads never reach. A package sized to the pallet and the rack opening, rather than to habit, recovers that height without moving a single beam.
Footprint
Cases and containers that do not tile cleanly onto the pallet leave gaps at every edge. Aligning the pack size to the pallet pattern converts those gaps into product.
Empties
In most plants, empty packaging is the largest single block of avoidable stored volume. Nesting and collapsing formats attack this directly.
Stackability
Packaging that cannot take a load on top forces single-high storage. Stacking strength, top-load performance and load stability decide whether vertical space is usable at all.

- Rack opening height against actual load height
- Pallet pattern efficiency for your current pack size
- Floor area currently occupied by empties
- Whether current loads can be stacked safely
- Whether flat-shipped formats could replace rigid empties
