Post-consumer recycled content — material recovered after consumer use and put back into new packaging.
PCR describes where the input material came from, not how the package performs. Available percentages, colour consistency and suitability for food contact differ by material and application, so PCR content is specified alongside the performance requirements rather than instead of them.
